In spite of the logistics problems and the affections on the industrial activity of the gas and electricity prices during the last semester of 2021, the four steel grades chosen for the TOPGEAR project have been manufactured, hot rolled into Ø60 bars and heat treated.
Besides the reference grade 27MnCr5, another case hardening steel (21NiCrMo2) and two medium carbon steels (42CrMo4 and 35MnVS4) have been distributed among the consortium members to launch the characterization phase according to the scheduled plan.
