The 3rd TOGPGEAR workshop took place on April 8, 2025 at the Machine Tool Laboratory (WZL) in Aachen as a hybrid meeting. The auditorium was first given a general presentation of the TOPGEAR project by Sidenor. The individual goals developed in the project were then presented by the consortium. ALD presented the water spray quenching, CRF the fatigue testing of 4 studied steels, the WZL the development and investigation of test gears at very high speeds and the i2m life cycle assessment during gear production. Finally, CRF analysed the possibilities for future BEV gearboxes based on the project results.
